  1. Join a world class team of ophthalmologists and staff in Lexington, KY Our full-time opening is for an Ophthalmic Technician. Our practice offers medical and dental benefits, along with STD, LTD and life insurance, continuing education and salary increases with the passing of your COA and COT. In addition, we offer a robust paid-time off policy. Ophthalmic Technician *Job Summary* Responsible for assisting physicians with patient encounters, documenting the patient exam, and facilitating the timely flow of patients in and out of exam rooms. *Essential Duties and Responsibilities* Efficiently conduct patient interviews and accurately document reason for visit. Accurately record exam notes into patient's health record. Perform diagnostic testing, or coordinate other follow up care. Assist physician with procedures and other medical treatments. Triage and respond to patient care calls. *Experience* Prior medical experience working with physicians and patients required. One to two years prior experience as ophthalmic technician preferred. *Skills* Working knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, symptoms, and ocular medications. Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with patients and their family members, physicians, and staff. Additional testing includes, OCTs, Photography, and Bscans. EMR experience is preferred. *Education/Knowledge* High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of JCAHPO ophthalmic certification a plus.
